Perhaps one of the most hotly debated topics in veterinary medicine is nutrition. With more diets out there than ever before, the myths and misconceptions continue to multiply – making it very confusing indeed for you to know just what food is best for your pet.
Bloorcourt vets and our highly trained and experienced team can help you sort out fact from fiction, truth from myth (including highly questionable advertising claims) and choose the best diet for your pet’s long term health and vitality. Due to ongoing advances in veterinary diets, we are actually witnessing pets staying healthier and living longer than in the past.

We are consistently educating ourselves to keep current on all the latest dietary advances and health information. We also understand that there is no “one size fits all” diet – every pet’s needs are unique. That’s why we stock a wide range of dog and cat diets right in our clinic. We’re your one-stop shop for all your pet’s dietary and nutrition needs.
Book a Nutritional Consult today!
We welcome the opportunity to schedule a nutritional consultation with you and your pet. We will assess your pet’s weight, overall health, current diet (bring the food with you) and any specific nutritional needs. Since obesity can negatively impact your pet’s health in much the same way as it affects humans (greatly increading the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis just to name a few) and it’s just as prevalent, we offer an effective Weight Loss Program, customized just for your pet. There are many tasty and nutritious diets that are proven to promote weight loss.
Before we can recommend a nutritional program for your pet (to target weight loss, weight gain or any other health issue), a thorough examination with one of our vets is required – to determine any underlying medical conditions. Armed with that information, we can then suggest the best diet for your pet, along with proper feeding amounts and times. 4 to 6 weeks later, we will re-weigh and determine if adjustments are needed, if your goals have been reached, or if your pet needs to continue on the prescribed plan a little bit longer.
